I've outgrown my good old Eko 1100 bass and I'm looking for a replacement. Something not too expensive and a little better, as well as good enough for gigging if it comes to that. I'm hunting for a used instrument that doesn't need much work to be playable, but I don't know where to look. I know there are lots of sites out there and I'm looking for some recommendations. Here's what I need: - EU based site - buying through the website rather than asking individual sellers if they'd ship outside their own country - a selection of used basses up to 600 Euro - reputation for quality because I won't be able to test before purchase - updated reasonably often The sites I liked so far are The Bass Gallery (they had a sweet CV Fiesta P, but it sold soon) and Guitar Shop Barcelona. Reverb seems underwhelming compared to buying new from Thomann or locally.
Here in Ireland, I've used Adverts.ie which always has a healthy turnover of basses/amps. Also we've a facebook page called Bassist Ireland Classified which, as it's run by bassplayers, is a great place to shop - Ireland being a relatively small place, everyone knows everyone else so it self-polices well. Neither of these handle the actual sale though, they just facilitate private sales. Maybe there's a similar site in Croatia?
Depends on what you're looking for. I found a killer deal on Reverb just 2 weeks ago and snagged it. Check periodically and something interesting might pop up. Local ads are worth checking because used prices in Croatia are usually quite low. It's pretty much a buyers market.
basschat.co.uk Largest selection of private bass related sales in Europe. bassic.de Same type of thing but in Germany. Then there's Facebook. Quite a few European bass sales groups on FB.
bassic.de German site with lots of 2nd hand gear. Most of these people understand English and are willing to send the equipment.
I'm in Canada, but I like to look through international music shop websites. (I have purchased a case for my Warwick-Rockbass Alien Deluxe 6 through Thomann in the past, of which I was happy with my purchase and their customer service.) Germany: Thomann, Station Musicshop, Session Music, Huik's Bass Connection, Public Peace (The manufacturer of Maruszczyk/Mensinger, but they also sell works of other builders/brands) UK: Bass Direct, Bass Gallery Spain: Doctor Bass, Todo Bajos France: Bass Club Paris (but I am not sure if their website is updated.)
