What is a good set of strings for "plugging in"? In other words, what strings sound good when you use a pickup on your DB, and it is plugged in? Also, I saw on Lemur Music, that the Velvet Compas 360 was good for use with "electro-acoustic transducers". Would these strings be good for me?

If you are using a magnetic PU, you need to use steel core strings, otherwise I can't think of a particularly well-suited string for amplification.

Most of it depends on the setup and sound character of the PU. If it is a bridgy-stringy sounding PU and/or PU setup, bright strings are going to sound like cheese.

If the PU is very thumpy (Realist) the strings will matter much less.

If the bass sounds good unamplified and the PU is of good quality and properly installed, you'll probably get a good amplified sound. If not, you probably won't.
