Greetings! I just got a general midi file for the accompaniment to Faure's Elegy from The Virtual Accompanist. The accompaniment is for the International edition in cm. I have, and am working on, the McTier edition in gm. Does someone have a sequencer and a sound card with a good grand piano patch that would be willing to take my file, transpose it down to gm, set it at MM=62, and rip an MP3 of the accompaniment for me? I don't have a sequencer to do the transposition/tempo, and the GM piano on my laptop is horrible! If the MP3 turns out to be to large to email, I'd be happy to pay for postage and CD. Alternately, if someone knows of a good freeware sequencer (with a decent piano), I could use that myself. Many thanks and best regards! Jim
If you can email the midi file, I might be able to dump it into Finale and transpose it. Then I could re-save as a midi file and send it back your way. It might work, but I'm out of town for the Holiday so I wouldn't get it done until Monday. Worth a shot though.
