    Thanks Steve-o :)

    Here's a close-up of the headstock:

It was the first time I ever used a router, that's why the truss rod slot looks a bit rough. Also the truss rod adjustment access is unfinished in that pic. Notice also the graphite enforcement bars.

This is the last one. Headstock is angled and it will have a HUGE volute :)

I've never heard of enforcement bars, but I have a feeling I'd like them a lot!:D

(I hope nobody is this picky about my typing, I'd get roasted!)
  7. looks great! did you do the work your self?

is it going to be a 5 or a 6?

    keep us updated! :D
  8. That's looking verrrry nice! I especially like the 3 shades and their contrast.

    I'd play it.

That looks great. It looks very similar to what i'm working on too. I like your wood choices. I'm going with Black Limba [just came in today], maple [neck], and ebony on a fretless 5. Keep the pics coming. That's all

Enforcement bar sounds less suspicious than stiffening rod (at least to me) ;)

I have done all the work by myself. This is my first one so believe me, there's been a lot of planning and thinking ahead going on :) It will be a fretless fiver. That piece of walnut is really light in weight. The whole thing weighs less than my Jazz bass and the neck is still not shaped.

I just received the Bartolini CBC-series soapbar for it from Basscentral. I'm going the Anthony Jackson way of no tone and no volume pot. I think I'll put a series/parallel/off switch in it though.

I'm spending 2.5 hours per week doing it at the local community college. They have the necessary power tools and there is always someone to give you advice when needed.
