that dude's cool, i noticed in the video he's goin all over the place but in the actual song he's jus tappin root note's which isn't cool. his bass is awsome, i like how the horn goes into the body.
he and a friend of his actually made the bass that i think your talking about. they have an article in the bass player with jack bruce on it about him. i think his name was tye zamora or something like that.
I think this is like the 4th thread on them, and there's another one going on at the moment, But i think their good. I'm just waiting for a new single to come out.
Ive only heard one song by them, the remake of "Smooth Criminal" so I cant really say if he's good or not, but damn I love his tone!!
His name is indeed Tye Zamora. He isnt all over the place on the Smooth Criminal Video, he is playing it right. But come on face facts, he's in a rock band where the guitarist plays mute most of the time, of course he's gonna play root notes most of the time, But if you know some who has the album or have an MP3 download thing on your PC then listen to Summer, Death Day and Courage for some good stuff, he is actually pretty damn good. Yay Zamora. (he plays upright aswell on the hidden track) (he plays it spot on live)
I agree he's a great bass player. He uses melody so well in songs like "Summer" and "Death day". He uses some wierd techniques too where, it appears, as though he is slapping notes with his palm , on the videos anyway.
the dude is pretty crazy, dont believe what he does in the videos to help you tab out the song or whatever, he just goofs off in the videos, adn most of the time, its nothing close to what he actualy does live, or on the album. Live, he does goof off a lot, but puts on a good show, and gets his job done. For the comment about his tone... from what i could see, it was an SWR 8x10, but i dont know what kind of head it was, i just dont remember.
