Abe Rivera Basses - info please?

    Hi, anyone know anything about these basses? I found one from 1980's for $2500 US. Do these sound similar to Alembics. Or more like Carl Thompson stuff. Any other info would be appreciated.

    Very nice basses, that’s the one Bob has from Bass Palace.
    I wouldn't say they are the easiest playing basses, but not bad. They have a rounder neck feel on average, but usually are very beautiful instruments. This one has been dinked with having a smith preamp and what is probably changed pickups.

    Might sound great and might not, but a very cool bass.
