ABG shipping - remove neck?

    I might be buying a acoustic bass in the near future, a Thunderchief to be exact. The seller doesn't have the case with it and is suggesting removing the neck, wrapping everything in bubblewrap and insuring it. I would have to reinstall the neck when it gets here.

    Do you guys see any problem with this?
    Suggestions?

    Shouldn't be a problem. If the seller packs it well it would be safer and cheaper. The Tacoma uses special bolts so he has to make sure to include all of the hardware. I wouldn't think it is out of line to ask for some pics of the before/after either.
