A friend of a friend, unfortunately as I haven't played it, or seen it, has :

    A 1972 USA Fender Precision.

With its original case and papers.

Sadly it was refinished, but otherwise it is stock.

What should he insure it for?

Not my type of bass but I'd love to give it a go just to try it out.

    Thanks for any advice.

By the way, it's in Ireland.

Baird6869 RIP Gord Downey. A True Canadian Icon.

It would likely sell for $1200-2000 depending on the finish. Likely closer to the lower end.

There are still 100% stock early-mid '70 P's out there to be had for in the $2000 range.

If it's a pro refinish, I'd say insure for about 1200 - 1500 euros, assuming Emerald Isle prices are as inflated generally as UK prices.
