? about Shuttle 6, Avatar, XL410

    I am a newb, and neither know the correct terms or description of my problem. As in the title, I have this combo(8 ohm cabs). Should my Hartke XL410 be distorting with the volume of the Shuttle at 12 o'clock? Right now, the pre is set at about 2 for the gain and volume, the eq is pretty much flat, signal shape is off. I bought the XL used, and am not really sure I bought a POS. When trying each cab seperately, the amp clip light comes on before anything distorts, so it's hard to determine the problem seperately. Not sure if this would be normal, but I don't get any great volume out of this rig, w/o the Hartke giving out. OBTW, the Avatar is a 212 NEO.

    If you only run the Hartke, the Shuttle should put out max 375W, whereas in case you run both cabs the Hartke should get 300W (600W / 2), so it seems strange that it only occurs when both cabs are attached. With this setup, unless you go very distorted, you cannot damage these cabs however you connect them.

    Can you describe what you hear from the Hartke a bit more in detail?
