I was in the local (well...semi local) music store, and they had a lot more basses than I give most general music stores for having. Anyway, they had some nicer basses, like some Cirrus' (Or would that be Cirri? :)) which I immidiatly jumped on. Gotta try these things, for which people have been ranting.

I don't get it. I tried to like it, but, alas, me and the Cirrus were not meant to be. After 20 minutes of hoping I would like it, I spied a Cort Curbow 5 in blue. Well, I figured, what the heck. And BAM! Just like that, I'm dead hooked.

Better B than the Cirrus, at least for my tastes and playing style (Or deficiencies there in). And even though it only has one pickup, it does sooo much with it. The Slap countour is really nice. A single switch sorta re-EQs the bass for slap, without all the knob fiddling. The 3 band EQ was fairly versatile, but, a little on the bland side. Maybe due to the single pup? But, I love the sound. It was great. After spending the better part of a hour with one...well...That DP Custom is gonna have to wait untill after a Curbow. I think. If Only I could try out Dave's stuff :(

I think I'm getting a Curbow...Besides, I though it looked cool too. We all know thats the selling point:rolleyes:

Over all, I'm diggin the Curbow action (both slang, and bass term...get it? hahahaha...oh, wait. That's not funny...:D)

    Goodie.
I have a blue one too.
The Action on that thing is amazing if properly set-up.

I do suggest a Pickup replacement anyway, I dont like those Mighty Mites.

  3. From what I've heard, I don't think the DP could be any worse than the Curbow. You'll get a DP someday anyway; I say get it, play it, and maybe the Curbow won't seem so great anymore.

True. Though...I dunno. I liked the 34 inch scale...mayhaps time to reconsider the Novax? And I KNOW I like the Curbow...maybe just take it one step at a time? You know, get the better, then finnally go uber custom?
Heck. I'm just trying to justify the purchase of the Curbow is all. IN a few weeks, maybe this GAS attack will receed and It'll be back to specing the DP.

And Luis, yeah...This thing was set up great for my digging in on the E/B strings. The other strings were a tad lower, and great for popping and slapping...and not a fret rattle on the bugger. Maybe in black? Hmn...:)
