    dude, c'mon do a search..

there are infinite amounts of posts/threads on this cab
  3. yeah, put El Whappo under subject and tommixx under user id and you wil get a ton!! I love this cab and miss it already!! I have a degenerative bone disease in my back and I can not handle the weight anymore or I would still have one...my all time favorite cab and my GAS cure for sure. I went with a Tri 210 and have no regrets BUT it AIN'T an El Whappo!!

I can't believe you did a search and didn't find anything. The info you seek is already here, friend. No need to wait for responses, just look around. Opinions on it are everywhere.

    I'll play:

I love my El Whappo!! I have yet to find a cab of any size weight or price that performs as well as the El whappo. In any room, I can dial in a great sound, which has always been tough with other cabinets, due to inherent voicings. A cabinet will sound great in one room, but not so hot in another. Now, I don't even think about wierd rooms, because the El Whappo can nail it anywhere, it's almost too easy. So yeah, I like it. :)

oh yeah, and its as loud as I could ever want a cab to be.

Since you apparently didn't find what you were looking for...here's my guess as to what you wouldn't have found in doing a seach.

The El Whappo is a complete piece of crap and you should never ever play one...If you ever find one in your vicinity you should make all haste to send it via express mail to me (Sno).
  9. I reviewed my El Whappo a while back. You can look it up under the "Gear Reviews" up top or in this thread: El Whappo Review

You find that there two factions... there are those who like the El Whappo best and those who prefer the Whappo Jr. My personal preference is for the former as a single cabinet solution, but both are wonderful cabinets.

once again I DID DO A SEARCH. I encourage you to do so as well. I did not find a discussion of this cab, just some comments about it in various other not necessarily related threads. You might have time to tediously search through the different threads but I don't. I wanted opinions on the El Whappo not to search through threads to glean what little info I could find. I thought it would be more expedious to simply make an "El Whappo" thread. Most people it seems were happy to answer my query, and I thank you. You have helped me decide to get one. A few people here want to be the "Do A Search" Nazis. To those I encourage them to help themselves to a nice tall glass of STFU.

Thanks this is exactly what I was looking for. This thread doesn't turn up if you search using "El Whappo" for some odd reason but I see that there are several reviews for Accugroove in the Gear Review section.

FWIW, I am one of those guys who prefers the slightly tighter lows and more coherent mids of the Whappo, Jr., but let me say that this is by a very narrow margin, and the El Whappo does have addictingly huge low end. Both are great cabs, in my book.

Lovin' my EW. Not bad to move either. Have gotten more compliments on my sound/mix than ever before. Cuts it inside or outside. Sounds great with all my amps and basses.
Great/fantastic customer service with really nice people.
Have a Tri210L cominng in today. :D Will report on the this cab in a couple weeks.

Note: Our crossover had trouble for the first set on Sat. and we had no Subs/foh. The EW was fabulous while the rest of the FOH suffered a bit. Pretty big club and the EW didn't even hesitate to smash everything in it's path while staying in the mix at the correct level. When we got the subs producing again I turned downed a notch. :smug:

The Whappo is as much cabinet as you could ever ask for. It is extremely accurate sounding and will deliever as much volume as most mortals will ever need. If you're looking for a single cabinet solution the Whappo fits the bill with flying colors.

There really has been a lot written about the El Whappo on this site, and it's unlikely that you'll find people who own them on these boards and haven't written about it already. That you may not be able to work the search properly is no reason to get snippy in your own thread.
