All the good reviews and reports on ACG basses are true. They're awesome. But my playing is now limited by arthritis and I'm gonna narrow my inventory to just 2 basses for thumping at home (one of which is an ACG Border Reiver travel bass - also awesome - traveling or not). So, here goes:

    Uber Finn 0145, built 2014.

    Top Wood: Tiger Stripe Myrtle
    Body Wood: Honduran Mahogany
    Accent Veneer: Black Sycamore
    Body Finish: Satin Lacquer
    Neck Wood: Paduak/Wenge/Maple
    Fingerboard: Mac Ebony
Head Plate,TS Myrtle Back Plate,Mahogany and Heel, Mahogany all with black veneer
    Neck Finish: Satin Lacquer
Pickups: ACG MC5 Multi-coil pickups with ACG IB1r and IB1f interface boards
    Pre-amp: ACG DFM dual filter
Hardware details: ACG Hipshot bridge, Gotoh GB350 Resolite tuners, Dunlop Dual Design straplocks
34.5" scale. 1 and 3/4" at nut. 19mm string spacing at bridge
    Weight ~ 9lbs (ish)
Currently strung with TI Jazz Flats

Comes with an extra set of custom pickups: ACG SC5, and ACG PB5 - to expand an already broad tonal palette. It's ridiculous.

What can it sound like? Damn near anything, but here's an example:
Über Finn R Type 5 Demo. | AC Guitars

No dings, dents, or scratches - pretty much as it arrived at my door new.

I disconnected the annoying red battery warning light. You can hook it back up if you want to.

Comes with a lovely Hiscox case.

    $2400.00

    No interest in trades.

    Thanks for looking.

Thank you. Knowing I have to sell it, I try not to look at it very often. Gives me heart cramps.

    Stack one: Volume/Blend.
Stack two: Low-pass filter for the neck pickup plus push/pull switch to activate the low mid boost. The lower ring is the filter frequency, with 41 detents. The upper ring is the overshoot peak level.
Stack three: Low-pass filter for the bridge pickup plus push/pull switch to activate the upper mid boost or Attack Boost. The lower ring is the filter frequency, with 41 detents. The upper ring is the overshoot peak level.
    Stack four: Sweepable mid/treble.
Single five: Passive tone with active/passive on the push/pull

I've had a couple of very nice trade offers, but the only thing I'd be interested in is a 32" scale, 4 string version (which my joints might handle) of this exact bass. And I'm pretty sure that nobody has such a thing.

  6. Alan might!

I've thought about having Alan build a mini-replicant. But I have to see where the arthro settles out before I spend more money.
