Wondering if anyone has had experience with the Acme B-1 speaker cabinet. What are your thoughts either pro or con?

Do they sound good at low volume? Does (2) cabs sound better? What size amp should be enough to push these cabs at low volume?

Haven't read alot about Acme cabs on TB. Does anyone use Acme cabs for gigs or own a B-1?

I'd be interested to hear thoughts to these questions myself.
  3. What are you looking to do with the B110 (I assume by B1 you mean the small 110 cab)? If you are looking for a single small cab to do, for example, folk or small group jazz work.... for that, they sound GREAT... very warm, lot's of low end for such a small box. A single 4ohm B110 matches up GREAT with an AI Clarus... warm and smooth. Two 8ohm B110's match up great with the AI Focus. (both those situations put about 400 watts into the cab(s).

I'm not a big fan of the larger versions of these cabs for pop or rock playing, but the 110 really is an awesome little cab for piano trio gigs or similar, IMO... and sounds GREAT with DB or semi-acoustic bass guitars like the Turner or Allen.

On your GBE-600, there is both a gain and volume control for the tube channel. If you want to drive the preamp tube harder, increase the gain (tube drive) and decrease the volume (post-tube gainstage volume) to achieve this.
