Will the Ampeg have enough cojones to properly power the Acme B-2? I'm trying to find a used 4ohm BII but I might have to settle for an 8ohm and I'm wondering if the Ampeg has the guts as it is rated @450@4ohms (not likely) and 275@8ohms. Is the BII aggressive sounding for the rock/rockabilly/alt-country that I play or more of a finesse jazz player's cab? Thanks!! Stephen
I had bad results when I used my SVT3 with one of my Acmes.........it just didn't have the power to push the cab, and I got the dreaded Acme farting a lot I was doing a convention gig where a lot of volume was not required either
It's not aggressive sounding at all, by itself - rather neutral instead - so it's not "dull" either. And, I don't think the SVT will cut it. I'd say, to play with a drummer, you'd need 500 really solid watts at least.
