I've got a lead on one (pretty cheap) and was wondering if it could be used as a bass head? thoughts?

Sure. It's just your basic SS head. It'll work fine. Just get a decent cabinet and you are good to go. You may not like the EQ shelving, but it'll work great.

Thanks! I've got 2 Avatar CB112s already. I'm still thinking about it. I've got an old Ampeg Gemini 22 guitar amp I'm trying to get rid of and was offered this plus some cash on the deal. Ideally, I'd like to get an older 50 watt bass head for it. We'll see.

The power amp in the 270 is the same as the one in the 370 bass amp, except it doesn't have the AGC (automatic gain control) circuit to prevent clipping.

I haven't looked at the schematic to see how different the EQ section is.

    Have fun!!!!

Thanks Billy! I'm not sure if I'll move on it or not, but I really appreciate the help.
