  2. Reading this thread made me plug in my Fender T-Bucket last night, and fell in love with it all over again.

I bought it in September 2016, and never fell out of love with it, but I've been playing it unplugged for the longest time. Plugged it in last night, and realized what a good and different sound it has.

Set my Boss GEB-7 EQ flat, and moved the sliders until I got the magic.

    Acoustic basses! :hyper: :bassist:

Better than soup on a cold day.

Well I sort of jumped on the band wagon today. Last week I purchased a Dean EABC bass 2012 model that was modified with an LC-5 preamp. Came with Dean HSC and a nice leather Fender Strap. I made an offer and I didn't think it would sell and the next thing you know I got a message saying accepted and I need to pay.
I don't know who thought to replace the passive electronics in this with the LC-5, but I have to say it is a real good match.
Here's the sellers pics and one of my pics with my buddy.
@McG, @Leftka and @GretschWretch thank you so much for telling me the good things about this bass.
Gawd is it huge though compared to my other ABG's!!!!
It's bigger than my Takamine GB72CE Jumbo
49 1/2" end to end, 18" across lower bout, 4 7/8" deep, 21 1/2" bottom of body to top of body and 12 1/8" across upper bout.

Anyone have suggestions for reducing or eliminating feedback from an ABG when plugged in? The bass in question is a Martin BCPA4. I've read about standing off-axis from the amp. Any other ideas? I thought of buying a Planet Waves sound hole cover. Curious if anyone has tried this and if so if it helps. Also, wondering if it will fit the sound hole of the BCPA4. I gave this to a friend as a gift and I can't measure the diameter of the hole right now. I've searched for this spec online, but to no avail. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for confirming that the sound hole cover actually helps to reduce feedback. I’ve sent one of the Planet Waves covers to my friend.

It doesn’t just help. It’s absolutely vital.

I've never had a feedback issue with my Martin. Two things: we dont turn up past about 3, and I play behind the amp.
