Am I way out of whack wanting my acoustic bass to setup like my Electrics? I do a lot of two had tapping stuff and want the action low. I have a Washburn AB-34 and the action is (at the 12th fret) about 3/16 and I am going for 1/8th. Am I nuts? Will it hurt the acoustic integrity if I go any lower?

    Thanx.

  2. Wouldn't it be advantageous to keep the action high enough to allow the strings as much vibration as is needed to get that top vibrating for volume? This isn't a solidbody - it needs this type of setup to function and give the listener a true tone.

I suggest developing an acoustic technique.
