I just bought a set of acoustic elixers, would it be wrong to put them on an electric bass? The guy at the store said it wouldn't be a problem.

    From the Elixir FAQ page ( http://www.goremusic.com/questions.htm#q4 ) ~

"What are the ELIXIR Guitar Strings made of?

Acoustic wound strings and electric wound strings have a
steel core wire. The wrap wire used for acoustic guitar
strings is 80/20 bronze, but the strings have been designed
to sound like a phosphor bronze string after one hour of
typical play. The wrap wire for electric guitar and bass
    strings is nickel plated steel..."

What kind of pickup is on your bass? I'm assumin' it's a magnetic type.
(fill out your profile dude! :D ).
I think the output would be pretty low with an 80/20 bronze wrap.
This material is better suited for basses with a piezo-electric pickup.
