well that just about covers it. I'm looking for an acoustic five or more string, and want great sound and playability. (as if to say that some people don't?) But I have NO idea where to begin looking for one, I'm an outcast in the acoustic world. So any help would be great.

By acoustic I assume you mean an acoustic bass guitar, right? Not an URB?

Well, in a five string ABG, I'd suggest you start by looking at the Tacoma Thunderchief and the Epiphone El Capitan. Those are the only two *readily available* ABG fives that come to mind at the moment, but I haven't had all my coffee yet. Godin may also do a five, but it's more electric-like in appearance (but sounds fantastic).

You may want to search the archives - ABGs are an evergreen topic. Have fun shopping!
