I just saw this on display at GC and played it with an American Jazz standard. This rig is simply amazing! It produces a very loud, clean, smooth sound!

I looked around the back and saw it had a on off switch for the horn. If I didn't have my GK rig, I'd buy this rig! Has anybody else played this yet?

yup i have played on it and it sounds awesome cant wait to buy mine:hyper::hyper::bassist:

  3. There has been alot of talk about this rig for about 2 weeks now with mostly positive comments. I picked up the head about a week ago and love it so far. I'm using it with my homemade cabs so I won't speak on tone, but I am very happy with the workmanship and the price point.

  4. It just looks... right. Beautiful stack. I'm glad to hear it sounds as good as it looks.

I wish I had money to burn on an amplifier, because it's an awesome amp.

    Thats pretty amaizing.
For the cost of a single SVT head and cab, you could have 3 compleat Acoustic stacks.
    WOW.

May I politley ask why is it so cheap? Not that saying cheap is bad. Just things like Bergantino, Eden, Epifani, Aguilar, etc. are kind of pricey. This might be interesting.

    They're made in China.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Guitar Center may have bought the brand name so they could start producing these as cheap amps. Although I may be confusing it with another brand.

Guitar Center does own the name I believe. And an american version of the 360 is coming out. I traded my new gk blx-II 410, for the Acoustic 410. I havent gigged it yet, but she will get a week long work out on the road. Ill post some piccies and a review of the cab then. But at the store she sounded just fine.

The speakers in the 410 look like eminence with smaller magnets then the more expensive cabinets. But you could always retrofit if need be. I think theyre 16ohm?

Plus the 410 cabinet is on the lite side and the internal bracing is not too shabby. The crossover is a little bit of a joke, but again, a techie would find it easy to retrofit a swr style crossover, plenty of room for one of those.

These do look to be a "house brand" for Guitar Center. People might just be buying into a familiar look and name.

With a 3 year warranty they could have good reliability or GC would loose money, and sold everywhere a "guitar center" readily available service or swapping could be available.

If they sound good, they could be a great value.

You get 30 days from GC to try them out in real life. Just trying in a store doesn't count.

I heard a guy demoing an SR4 through the 100 w combo today as I blew past in GC. It was amazingly ballsy, I must admit. Gotta try some of this stuff out myself.

I'm not doubting the quality of this gear, but I think the similarities between this new line and the vintage line are few and far between. I'll wait until the 360 comes out to pass judgment on them.

Yea i do a lot with my Trace cabs...I love the punchy sound i get and less boom if in a corner. It may be unconventional, but i have had nothing but praise about praise about my sound. My old lead singer used to constantly brag up my rig and sound to everyone... to the point of annoying me!

I wrote of my own experience a few weeks ago in the link I just posted. With the MIM Jazz bass, this set up RULED. Period.

I've read of a couple people being disappointed by the tone of this amp and I'm wondering if it's simply a matter of having heard a defective unit etc. The head and cabs I tried had a couple of problems but the people who are involved with the company seem to be super responsive AND super responsible in trying to make good by either replacement/repair or by incoorperating suggestions from users/potential buyers to make sure that everybody is completely satisfied.

Is there a website that has any information on a new American version of the 360 or is this just a rumor at this point?

Well I'm totally guilty of buying GC stuff and returning it 29 days later! When I need something in paticular for a recording I buy it from GC then return it after the recording is over. It's like renting but for free..... So buy it use it and send it back and try something else if you don't like it. They hate me at Boston GC I think:eek:
