I just got a new Acrylic BC Rich Mockingbird. Let me start
by saying, this thing was one heck of pain in the butt to
setup, and it still needs a little tweeking. I am assuming
it's the acrylic body, but the harmonics are a little screwy.
Once setup though, she sings pretty sweetly, a lot better
than I expected. The action is great, the feel of the neck
is beautiful, and it has a killer sound. I bought it
basically as a visual thing, to go along with my other Riches, but I am very pleased with it. But be warned, it is
rather heavy, at almost 13 pounds.

Where do you see them for $299 at Musicians Friend. All I see with them is the wood model for $399.
As far as I know, there is only one dealer that
has the acrylic basses, that Drum City/Guitar Land
in Colorado. I paid just under $500.

Like I said, I figure it's because of the acrylic body,
but it's hard to setup. The intonation is tough to get. I still need to adjust the D and the G better,
but even still, it sounds really killer. I just plugged
it in, and right away got this nice "GUNKA GUNKA"
    Geezer Butler type sound.

Well, I don't have the latest issue, so I'm not
saying your wrong, but on there website, they
only show and acrylic GUITAR for that price.
They do NOT list an acrylic BASS at all.
They do list the wooden Platinum Mockinbird bass, and that is $399.
  8. hmm, that's wierd, normally the website has the specials before the issue, it's in the close out section so you may wanna look in to it pretty soon cuz when they put something in there it gone
  9. oh crap, it's a bass, i didn't see the pictures, my bad

That's what I was trying to say, I have an acrylic
BASS. If I had the guitar, I wouldn't really be
    posting about it in TalkBass.com.

And again, from what I have been told, there is only
the one dealer that has the basses. They told me
that they had to special order them, and BC Rich is
going to see how they sell.
