Quick newbie question. I recently bought a qsc power amp. I'm currently using a passive bass and running it through the preamp on my Laney practice amp. I've been looking at some different preamps, but I think I really want to get a G&L L2000. If I were to put my money towards this bass instead of a preamp, would the active electronics take care of my need for a preamp (at least for the time being)?

This has been discussed a few times. I guess the concensus is it will work for something as hot as a L2000, but you probably won't care for the results.

It would sound alright, but be a very weak signal. You might want to just get a presonus tube pre, and use that for now, itll only set you back 100 bucks, or less if you buy used
