    a couple of questions
    i have a spector (korean)
    it has the passive EMG-hz
    and the EMG preamp
i want to add another battery to make 18volts!
how do i wire this? phiscialy i can do this but don't know wher to put the wires.
also on the preamp it has two switches on it.
    what are these for?
    what will they do?

what pups do you think i should put into the spector for a better overall sound?
    thanks steve
  2. to add the battery: first disconnect one of the ends of the battery. for this explanation, i'll assume you disconnected the negative end. attach the positive end of the new battery to the disconnected negative end of the old battery harness. next attach the negative end of the new harness to where the negative of the old harness was originally. wrapping the connection in the middle with electrical tape is good too, to keep the wires from shorting something and frying something.

that's the explanation of the switches. i'll let you read it rather than copy it out again.

as for pickup choice......what is 'better' anyway? you could go to active EMG's or switch to Bartolini or Seymour Duncan or if you can find some Lane Poors people seem to drool over them a lot.
