Active Ibanez

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by tresdirnt, May 27, 2001.

  1. Apparently my Ibanez bass is active. I'm guessing this has something to do with on-board electronics, but I'm not sure. Does anyone else have an active Ibanez, an SR300dx in particular. Do I have to change a battery at some point? Thank you in advance for any responses.

Yep, active means that you have a battery in there to power your onboard electronics, whether it be pickups or an EQ. You should be able to hear a difference in the tone when the battery is low. Mine started to sound distorted when it needed refreshment. I have a couple of rechargeables that I use and I always insert a fresh one before each gig.
