I have an American Deluxe J Bass that has "issues". Fender tells me it is a bad board the 9V pre-amp is designed for 18v, so the step the 9 up to 18V and that circuit has been identified as having problems. I can not seem to get a replacement. My thought is (if I cant replace) to convert into a passive bass. I like the single volume pot and the blend pot for the pick-ups. I have the wiring for a standard J bass but this has a volume for each pick-up. Has anybody wired a blend control into a passive set up? I will then have an extra hole, I thought I may be able to wire in a switch that may be able to switch from parallel wiring to series. ANY ADVICE????
    Thanks,
