Active/Passive switch

    I just bought a Musicman USA SUB Stingray. Is it possible to install an active/passive switch in it?

    You could do it with a push/pull pot:

    just omit the treble cut pot from that diagram

    On an USA MM it is difficult because volume is set directly into the preamp through a 25kohm pot. MM mickups also have rather low output and are not meant to be used passively.
    I think the first SUB used the same electronics as its big sisters, which would make the mod complicated.
