I have an active/passive (push/pull) Corvette Standard Warwick. I bought a set of Aero type 1 J-style pickups to replace the stock MEC pups. They are hum-canceling, reverse wound single coils. Will they sound good in active mode??? How bad will the hiss be????

    FWIW:

I had a set with hum in a temporary install using wire-nuts. Nothing unusual about that for me as I get hum most of the time no matter what pup's installed. Assuming good grounds and nothing wierd in the environment they should be fine but the manufacturer would be the one to ask. Maybe you'll get more reponse on that from TBr's with this bump. I ran them passive straight to the jacks and it's my experience that preamps can filter some noise so it may knock out whatever exists so you don't even notice.

Only you can answer whether they sound good. My experience with them is under Dimento's J experiment in FAQ.
