Have you thought about Bartolini's? They get VERY clear tone. It's even too clean for me. I prefere the Seymour Duncans with a little more growl.

To my understanding, the Alembic pickups are the most clear, and most expensive. If you really want clear, and you have the money to spare, I'd go with Alembics. They're also VERY clear. But personally, I'd just go with the Barts, both of them are clear enough for anybody who listens, the Barts are just cheaper.

MudFlaps, I'm not sure if Bart still do active pups.

satansbane13, EMG's are great but in my experience the SD active pups are warmer.

Are you looking at soapbars or J's/P's?
