I have about £150 to spend on my 'new' secondhand bass.

It's a 5 string Ibanez SR305 Soundgear, I don't know what year but I do know it has DX5 pickups and is passive. It has 3 adjuster knobs, bridge volume, neck volume and tone. If there is anything that is known to be a problem with this bass then please tell me. Also please tell me what I should do with it to make it better, I think I want to fit active ewlectronics but with the amount of money that i have would I be better off going for new pickups? How much do a good set of aftermarket pickups cost for my bass and which ones are the best?

I would greatly appreciate an answer to all of those questions and feel free to add anything that you think would be useful, also if there is an expensive but really useful thing that I can do to my bass to make it absoulutely fantastic then please tell me.
