Can I buy a generic adapter for my boss ME-50B?
Or do absolutly need a psa 120 from boss?
I heard they not that good and they a lot more expensive then the generic one...

  2. I've been wondering about this same thing with some of my other pedals. The adapters that are "meant" for most effects are ridiculously expensive, and there seems to be a big emphasis that companies are putting out that you "need" to buy ONLY their product, hmmm.... :eyebrow:

Any adaptor will do as long as it has the following specs:

    Input: AC 120V 60Hz 9W
    Output: DC 9.6 Volts, 200mA
    Negative center pin
    Positive sleeve

Kinda off the topic, but how do you like the ME-50B?

I like it a lot, very easy to use and some very good sound.
I looked for a used one for over a month and coudn't find any. SO I had to buy it new.
I think it is still a deal at 300$.

I bought a very cheap adapter last night and tried it this morning. ANd it work! It cost me onle 4$!

    :)

  7. Daft question, but I use a generic adaptor (one of the 5-way 'Power Bank' ones which states "DC-9V Total-450mA") with only one output, and it seems to work.

If I'm gigging, I use a Zoom PSU which runs 300mA.

Am I going to damage my ME-50B by using these?

  8. No, I don't think so, you just need a minimum 200mA.
