I have a Washburn XS-2, which is a 24-fret bass with a P-style pickup. It's not quite bassy enough for me, maybe because the pickup is about 5/8" closer to the bridge than the pickup on my Precision. So I'm thinking of adding a neck pu, a la Billy Sheehan. However, a Model 1 or Will Power won't fit, because of the 24-fret neck. So I'm thinking of a J-style. The Basslines Quarter Pound would seem to make sense, since I have a Quarter Pound P pickup in this bass already. However, I hate hum, so a humbucker might be better. Any suggestions or comments?
  2. You could get a stacked J pickup, like one of Seymour Duncan's Jazz Stacks or a Fender Noiseless J pickup.
