Adding a cab with mid drivers

    I'm thinking of building a small cab with only mid drivers. I would probably put them on a vertical array on top of my other cabs and power it with my power amp which has a crossover.

    Thinking about using the eminence alpha 4, 4 of them in a sealed box.

    Does that make sense?

    I use distortion in my sound and would like to shut the tweeters but retain some highs with the mid drivers

    Makes sense to me but you'll probably get nay sayers.

    Yep, and there were several other similar takes posted in the mondo long fEARful threads here as well. I've built around half a dozen variants over the years myself, but usually with tweeters too, like these three: Passinwind DIY Cabs

    I also did one using two Faital 4 inch drivers, which I've never really finished up properly. One of these days... Or_wink.gif

    Use a pair of Alpha 6 CBMRA, much easier to make a cab for as it doesn't need to be sealed. Try a crossover between 800 and 1600 Hz.
