I kind of want to add a whammy bar to my fretless, but I really want to play one first and find more info. I keep seeing the Kahler 2400 being thrown about but this post http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53528&page=1&pp=20&highlight=kahler+2400 mentions intonation problems? thoughts? Is it worth it on fretless? Like, will i be able to dive bomb or is the string gauge really a giant inhibitor?
That post is from before Kahler came back into business. Their site is http://www.kahlerusa.com, check that forum.
They have no intonation problems, and when they're properly set up and tuned the right way, their tuning is as stable as any hardtail bridge. Not so sure it would be good on a fretless, though. You can pretty much do whammy effects on a fretless without it.
i never really thought of that actually... because I already do the divebomb thing, I think it may be the only reason i have it lol. That kinda took the wind out of my sails...
