I JUST got this bass in a trade and played it for a few hours yesterday and today, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get used to it's wide fretboard. The profile is unreal thin and fast all the way up the neck. It's truely unlike anything I've ever felt before. Tone is full and modern. More importantly, the action is LOW and FAST. Bass is made by Adler, who was an up and coming luthier, but stopped making basses after a few years. He's listed in the bass guitar wikipedia page as having made the first 11 string bass, so extended-range basses are his forte. I can provide more links to other information I found about him and his work if you'd like. Some examples of his work from other TB sales: 4 string 5 string 6 string single cut TB Classified ad from its previous sale/ trade UPDATE: This bass' previous caretaker was a TB member who filled me on some extra details from the Adler's history. The original Adler custom pickups shown in the original ad were 5 string pups then replaced with the 6 string Barts in order to get more sonic coverage. The original bridge was also replaced to get more resonance. Some basics: 34" scale 11mm spacing at nut (same as p-bass for reference) Hipshot adjustable A-style bridge Bartolini Pickups Aguilar OPB-3 preamp Series/ parallel switches Flame maple top Paulownia body Maple and purpleheart neck Ebony Board For trades, I'm looking for another bass with an equally thin/ fast neck profile, but less wide. Also interested in a moog sub 37 or little phatty. I'm open to 6'er, but I usually play 5s. I'm open to other suggestions or offers, so let me know what you have in mind. Price for this bass is based on the previous TB classified ad (Link for the lazy). Message me with any questions about it.
