So doing the covers/wedding band thing with a great female vocalist. Need to cover this tune (please don't judge me too harshly!!). Any advice on how to replicate the bass sound in this live clip would be much appreciated. Currently playing Musicman Stingray bass through Little Mark III head. Thanks

Sounds like some subtle chorus on the bass. I would just dial in your favorite clean tone and focus on the groove.

And judge you why? For playing an awesome song?

This. I just plucked near the bridge and kept it round when I played it.

    Groove it and have fun.

Very cool- thanks for both those bits of advice. I don't have a chorus pedal at the moment so sounds like I'll be trying to dial in a good tone and get into it. Thanks :)

I can only really play fingers so that works. Haven’t got a p-bass but would love to get one once I’ve got some cash. Can anyone recommend a chorus pedal for me?? Most likely I’ll have to consider my options and buy online as the range available in local stores I’d really limited.

I used to get a much thicker, chewier, chorus than you seek by stacking a few models in my Zoom ms60b. This does chorus well, with the added bonus of low price, and a bunch of other models to check out.

My suggestion is to skip the chorus pedal for this song. Follow what two fingers said - I would do the exact same thing. It's not like the crowd will refuse to dance to the tune if you DID NOT use a chorus pedal.

The crowd doesn't care about the exact bass tone. You your tone that sits right in the mix, and play the tune.
