i have a p-bass with the emg pickup in it and i want to up a emg j-bass bridge pickup in it. I was wondering how much it would cost to get the body ported out for the pickup because i dont dare do this myself. i was also wondering if i could mount thepickup direcly to the body.

    any help would be apreciated

  2. you can't put the pickup straight on the body (not enough room). You should be able to get a rout done for about $50 or less...if you take it to an experienced non-luthier woodworker it may cost you less, but you'll probably have to supply a template (not hard to find online).

after the rout...a wire channel will need to be drilled to the control cavity and then you should be able to handle the wiring job yourself.
