again, emg vs bartolini

I have this custom made bass (partially done myself). It has maple body wings, 5-piece maple mahagony neck-through, ebony fingerboard two emg-35j pickups a khaler whammybar and it's 32".

I just discovered that bartolini offers pickups that are the same size as the soapbar emg's that I have.
The emg's create a sound like a superjazzbass, it cuts through anything and it's great in a band setting. But when I record solo pieces it mostly sounds a bit to sharp and it also sounds a bit "unorganic" if you understand what I mean. It doesn't have a lot of personality.

So my question is, can bartolinis provide that kind of sound? (warm but still with a clear top end ?)
