New York, NY Aguilar Amplification, manufacturer of high-quality amplifiers, speaker cabinets, pickups and effects pedals for bassists, is pleased to announce the Grape Phaser bass phase pedal. The Grape Phaser will be unveiled this week at the 2018 Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, CA at the Aguilar booth (#5626).

The Grape Phaser provides lush, analog phase shifting courtesy of a simple, two-knob layout. RATE controls the speed of the modulation while COLOR feeds a portion of the signal back through the phase shifting circuit, creating new and super funky bass sounds!

    Features:
    • Uses all-analog technology
    • Gig-saver bypass (signal passes even if your battery dies)
    • Can be powered by a nine-volt battery or optional universal power supply
    • Heavy duty steel construction
    • Three-year limited warranty
The Grape Phaser is set to be released in the spring 2018 and carry a US street price of $169.00.

    Grape Phaser.

So this is a passive circuit? As in, it doesn't need power to function?

I assume that this means that it requires power to add the effect to your bass but even without power, the signal passes thru - unlike some other pedals I've had the misfortune of having on my board when issues have arisen.

  4. Is this a 4-stage phaser? 8-stage? 16-stage?? Does the color knob control stages or just "depth"? Very interesting. Could this be the MXR Phase-90 Script Logo killer?

You'll have to pry my Phase 90 from my cold dead hands. Nice looking box though.

It is a 4 stage phaser. “Color” puts the signal back into the circuit at the 2nd stage.

Simple but solid phaser. Just like all of Aguilar's pedals, it's very musical for bass no matter where you turn the nobs.
