    Hey Guys

Was just on the Aguilar Website and saw this.

    http://www.aguilaramp.com/products_amplifiers_db751.htm

    Check it out...

UPDATE: This one will be available from May 1st. I'll post more info as it happens

It doesnt seem to be a massive change - Updated pre amp- not sure on the specifics, The on switch has moved to the front.
Thats what I picked up at a quick glance...

Interesting... I've heard nothing about this until its already available. They seem to have the opposite marketing strategy of GK :p

This isn't enough of an update to the standard DB750 formula for me to switch from mine. Pretty cool though.

Agreed. I'm going to play it in a store to see if there is any real discernible difference, but I agree that it isn't enough of an "upgrade" to justify trading in the 750.

One thing I'm definitely not a fan of is the use of the rubber knobs. The Metal Knobs looked much better imho.

    agreed,

i dig the metal knobs more, but heck, if its says "aguilar", call me piqued.

I play it all. Whatever works for the gig. Q+
I think that is a great idea.. there are some folks that this added amp will certainly attract ....

That's true...the active eq looks interesting. Could be what a lot of people have been hoping for. I still want the 680's parametric eq in that thing.

    sonofa...

    that would be UNbelievable.

but heck, i'd settle for the ag500 eq section.

    My bad...

    sorted.

I'm keen to have a listen to this one. Not sure if it would make me change from my 750.

I have always wanted two of them but...:D:eek:

I didn't even understand the difference from the DB750.
I'm keeping mine, until they make it smaller, lighter or add the Semi-Parametric Mids of the Tone Hammer.

It's basically just a more powerful eq...

It could be the intention of Aguilar to phase out the 750 and have this be its replacement. Shall we have Dave B chime in?

    On the DB750 page:

    Discontinued as of 03/23/2009

The new DB 751 is the logical evolution of the DB 750. We have made the tone stack (EQ) powerful and flexible, making this amp great for every style of playing.

I also noticed the Mid eq is set at 750hz on the DB751. The DB750 was set at 400hz.

Glad to have the DB750 :)

They've also moved the F/X sends and returns to the front which was a problem for me at one point with the AG500 in a rack?? :eyebrow:

In fact, it looks like the pre-amp section has been directly lifted from the AG500 (for the main part) and added to the DB750 Chassis??

Think I'll place an order for one immediately, even though the old one would do! :)

Apparently it's 1 pound lighter according to the specs! ;)

41 instead of 42 pounds and that's probably just from using lighter knobs! :D

True, though I think that's also due to us all being used to the looks of the 2 (DB750 & AG500) being around for a while at such different price points.

P.S. Toasted, Got an Earth Quake Bass Wah in the end! Awesome! :bassist:

I agree Andy. I'm thinking about switching from the DB750 to an AG500 myself.

The EQBW is great. I want another but I'm not spending 270 euro!
