I have had this amp for 6 years but rarely use it. I would consider trading including trading up for: * pre '73 Fender basses (nothing heavy and with jazz or B necks) * Fender Custom Shop * Alembic Essence 4 * Sadowsky jazz It has had a recent checkup at a local specialty audio shop and I installed new Tungsol power tubes. The Aguilar DB 359 is a powerhouse of fat, warm bass tone. The DB 359's preamp design employs the same tube gain stages as the world-famous DB 680, while the DB 728 amp design was used in the power section of the new head. Power output: 200 watts RMS into 4 or 8 ohms. Can be changed to 2 ohm also with simple minor internal wire change. Transformers: Custom-designed toroidal output transformer for ultrawide bandwidth. Power transformer is also toroidal Tube Complement: 2 GE 5751 (12AX7), one 12AU7, 4 Tungsol 6550s Equalization: Tube-driven treble, mid, and bass controls Deep switch - adds low bottom Bright switch - Passive RC pre-emphasis circuit EFX loop: Series or parallel. Pre or post EQ. Line level or instrument level inputs, selectable Inputs: One passive, one active Outputs: One 1/4" phone jack, one XLR balanced output Jenson transformer output levels - 40 pre and post EQ Cooling: High-quality whisper fan Size: 2 rackspaces, 50 lbs. $1300 USD. The estimated shipping to the US is $150 depending on location. Duty, brokerage and additional charges may apply upon delivery. It will be boxed very well due to its weight.
Awesome amp! If you really want to sell it, don't plug it in again. You'll probably change your mind.
Plugged it in. It is nice Would also consider Mike Lull V4, F Bass BN4....the usual Christmas time GASing scenario.
Awesome amp. I miss mine but one can only (at least me anyway) justify having one tube amp set-up at time. But this amp, with some Genelex Gold Lions and and the Aggie 1x15 are just awesome. Add the 2x10 and its magic time or go with a 4x10. I might be alone here but I didn't really like the 359 with 12's. Anyway, great amp at a great price.
Saw a new DB359 in the local music shop today. The price...$3999! No wonder its been sitting on the shelf for 10 years. Its a cool but strange little music shop.
