Ok, before you flame me, i have already searched and i could not find the answer. I am about to get an aguilar db750 sent in from my mate in the states. He says that on the back of the unit it has 3 power numbers 100, 120, 230, with a dot on the 120. Now, what i was wondering, how do i change the power settings to 230 for Australia? The reason why i got a head from the states is because we are recording and touring there next February till July with a possible spot on warped for a couple of shows, and i did not feel that carrying a step down converter is worth it. So, can it be done? How easy is the switch? Thanks heaps guys.
I think i've read somewhere that you can take it to a qualified repairman and let him(or her) replace a specific part inside and Voila, it runs on 230v. I'm thinking on getting one myself and having this done to it. What about asking Aguilar himself? Hear they're pretty good at service!!!
you definitly should talk (or email) to the aguilar staff. i don´t believe it is as easy as changing one or two parts or a valve. if you go on tour in a few days i would recommend to use a voltage changer (sorry don´t know how these are named in english; power conditioner???). that will be a safe way. btw: congratulations on your choice! this is a fantastic amp. sandmann
I have sent an email directly to aguilar. Thanks guys. If anyone knows though your answer would be most appreciated.
You can get a rewiring diagram from Aguilar, it is a very easy. You need to rewire 1-3 small cables inside, no big deal, but if you haven't got any experience get a pro technician to help you...I had mine DB750 rewired in less than 30 min. But contact Aguilar to get the diagram... good luck
By the way, if my memory serve me well I believe you need to change a switch inside as well, but aguilar can send one these to you for a small amount...
Awesome, How much did the swicth cost you? As long as i know it's possible that is sweet. Thanks heaps Jacove. Your a champ
