Aguilar max. output specs.

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Chris, Jun 23, 2002.

  1. I'm looking into the PLX 3402 to pair with my Aguilar DB 659, but I'm not sure if the output voltage is high enough on the Aguilar to run the QSC to full power. I emailed Aguilar to get the specs on the 659, but it's slow going. I was wondering if anyone had them handy. Thanks.

  2. I think it should be fine, i know a guy who runs the 680 through a cheaper QSC poweramp and it sounds loud and fine.

    Chris,

the DB659 preamp gives you .775v and according to the QSC manual the PLX 3402 input sensitivity, v rms at full rated power @ 8 ohms is 1.9v (+7.7dBu) and @ 4 ohms is 1.7v (6.6dBu).
Anyway, you can get an easy modification done in any QSC service center to match the QSC with the output of the Aguilar.
By the way, I've got a 1602 (no mod) matched with a DB659 and I get plenty of power.

    hope it helped
