I've searched on this forum for similar topics, but to no avail. Most are about the older OBP-1, and none compare both :(

Anyways, the question is, how do these two match up to each other? Both are 3 band preamps, and both have had great things said about them, my question essentially, is 'which is better'? Also, do both of these offer a passive/active on/off switch?

Also, which pickups accompany these preamps well?

Your problem may be that not to many have the obp-3 yet, as i w as told i recieved the first one sold to an imdividual, in the usa, and that was only a few weeks ago. Though i bought it back in august. Having not played with a j retroi can;t omment on that but the aguilar is amazing. And form what i understand about half the price.
    Hope this helps,
