Hey man, I actually like the way your bass sounds with the Aguilar pickups. It makes your bass sound more hifi.
Agreed. It's not necessarily BETTER, it's just DIFFERENT which is great, considering that you have 2 nearly identical basses!
Thanks for checking out the new pickups in the bass. I'm still getting used to what I have to work with now with the new setup, and I'm loving every minute of it. I've now put a set in one of my Fender Jazz Basses, and am having a Mayones built that is aguilar pickups and preamp... Might have to try the preamp in my fodera at some point in the near future too. Janek
None of the footage I have with the pickups in the jazz bass are out there for the public yet, just for Videobasslessons.tv. I'm sure there will be videos coming though, so make sure you're subscribed to the youtube channel and they'll be up soon. Janek
Those pickups do sound great! I think I like them better too. Who'd have thought you could make something so great even better...
What size are the pickups? Are they the DCB G3s? They look quite narrow, but then his Fodera is 16.5mm spacing so he'd probably get away with the G3s.
kind of an old thread but, i'm happy to find out that these pickups will fit into my backup bass (carvin) as a replacement for the stock pickups. janek, now that time has passed can you weigh the pros and cons of the aguilar pickups? to my ears they have an intense sound, lots of detail and character to them. did you ever switch to their preamp? looking forward to hearing more from you and your bass with these pups!
