Aguilar Tone Hammer 9 vs 18 volts

I have been using my TH pedal with a 1Spot 9v adapter. I run it into the front of my Quilter BB800. It works but am I missing some performance by not using it at 18v? The Aguilar 18v adapter costs ~$30. Worth it? I don’t do batteries.
