I recently had experiences with an Aguilar and a Bartolini preamp. The Aguilar was an OBP-3 that I installed in a bass. The Bartolini is a NTMB-918F. What I noticed is that the Aguilar seems to have the majority of it's cut/boost in the first few degrees of rotating the eq knobs. The Bartolini on the other hand, is very subtle cutting/boosting till the eq knobs are almost to the end of their travel where there's a jump to max/min cut or boost. I was wondering if this difference in taper is a function of the pots that are attached to the preamps or is it the preamps themselves?
