i'd take a beautiful solid piece of bubinga like that over a buckeye burl or maple top any day.

i've seen a few thumbs that have bubinga like that. absolutely beautiful...here's one:

ooh..i'd like to see the fretboard on your Elrick...Mine is going to have a full Bubinga front (ie. fretboard, headstock, and maybe pickup covers.

Does a Bubinga freboard have a feel similar to rosewood?

well my Elrick is fretted.. so I don't feel it much.. however. I do believe that Bubingo is more dense than Rosewood... I am not a wood expert though...

[edit] I am sitting here looking at my fretboard, it is such a beautiful piece of wood, its figured... not alot, but its there, I wish I had a digital camera, i would take some close up shots of it, maybe around Christmas I'll buy one... I'll be working then so maybe

I've actually started preferring the J-5 body to the Brado...go figure.
