hmm...i just got some bartolini m4's installed on my conklin gt-4, now my volume and mid knob make awful static or scratchy noises, kinda like a dj on a turn table. any idea on how to fix this?

I think your pots may have dust in them.

  5. Fix it? That sounds pretty cool. I wish my pots would make DJ effects.

any idea on how to clean them out?

  7. Ok this will be hard to explain so i reckon u should do the second option, but that may be wrong too arrghhh!!

    1. I have a thing called a Desolder Bulb. Its a bulb where u squeeze it, and when released sucks air in, thus sucking the solder in. I would use this to remove the dust. Instead of sucking air in, i would pump the bulb to blow air out and blow the air into the little gap near the legs of the pot where the metal covers the pot.

    2. If this seems confusing, spray some WD-40 or RP-& into the little gap of the pot. you'll find it. then move the shaft backwards and forwards until the sounds goes.

Or.. go to Radio Shack and get some TV tuner cleaner and spray it in there. Turn the pot to work it in. Do Not get the contact cleaner, it has a degreaser that will shorten the life of your pots.
