AI Focus buzz

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by .matthew e wengerd., Mar 20, 2006.

  1. Just bought an AI Focus I, Series II from a fellow TBer. What a great amp!

My only concern is: when powering down, the LED flickers and an audible buzz comes through the cab for as long as a second. This occurs just after flipping the switch.

I've checked AI's site and see no reference to anything like this. Is it common?

yup. Mine does the same thing. It's best to get in the habit of pulling down the master first - Especially if you are using the DI and the PA is still up.

Clean the input and effect loop jacks. It should clear it right up.

I had that with my Clarus, called AI, and that was their recommendation. I opend it up, flushed out the jacks and gave them a light shot of DeOxit, and it has been quiet as a mouse since.
