Akai Deep Impact Service Manual ??

  1. Hi Folks,

    My Akai Deep Impact recently stopped working...

    Clean signal gets through when bypassed, but when an effect is engaged either no signal or a very low distorted signal comes through. The input level lights on the top rght of the pedal remain lit in any position...

    I understand it's unlikely that I'll be able to get it fixed, but I want to try, (because I love the pedal and spent a small fortune buying it).

    Does anyone have a copy of the service manual? The local Akai distributor wants $25 for an e-copy!

    Just called...."expected waiting time in queue is...19 minutes"
    I wait the 19 minutes or so, it rings again...same message starts "expected waiting time in queue is...38 minutes"
    hang up.
    I'll try to get ahold of somebody by the end of today.

    No longer a slave to GC.
    So apparently Akai "does not have the service manuals & can't give them out", so unfortunately you have to go through an authorized repair center/vendor...sorry man. They wouldn't even give me one, being a vendor...Wish I had better news for you :(
